Concrete renovation encompasses various techniques that not only aim to repair visible damage but also to strengthen and protect concrete structures. Discover below which innovative techniques we, as a concrete renovation company, employ to provide sustainable solutions.
1. Concrete Injection
Concrete that comes into contact with rebar can suffer severe damage. This can be relatively easily prevented by applying concrete injection as a technique. For this, we inject a specific agent into the concrete that seals visible cracks and protects the rebar within the concrete. This method complies with international regulations for concrete preservation, such as NEN-EN 1504.
2. Carbon Reinforcement for Strengthening Concrete
To secure and stabilize a building’s concrete structure, SealteQ applies carbon reinforcement, among other methods. With this concrete renovation technique, we apply carbon adhesive to the exterior. The lightweight material is not burdensome and provides significant strengthening of the concrete. This technique complies with, among others, NEN 8700 and the Building Decree.
3. Concrete Protection
To prevent wear and tear, chemical damage, or carbonation (a chemical reaction that occurs when concrete is affected by CO₂), or to extend the lifespan of the structure, we apply a layer of concrete coating. This high-quality coating is used for various structures, including liquid-tight floors, bridges, and parking garages.
4. Cathodic Protection
For concrete where the rebar is severely corroded, cathodic protection offers the solution. By applying electrochemical techniques, we slow down the corrosion process and protect the concrete against further damage. When we renovate concrete by means of cathodic protection, we do so according to the regulations of CUR 45 and NEN 12696.
