SealteQ in the media: Eisma’s Schildersblad

The job SealteQ is carrying out at FC Groningen has not gone unnoticed at Eisma’s Schildersblad either. Starting in spring 2021, we will conserve the steel roofing of the Hitachi Capital Mobility Stadium and provide it with a new coating. This will ensure that the roof construction can last for many years to come.

Eisma’s Schildersblad interviewed our project leader Marcel Vrijs about this special assignment: ‘Painting at height in FC Groningen stadium’. An insight into SealteQ’s approach.

From the article in Eisma’s Schildersblad:

Vrijs soon discovered that the biggest bottleneck in the maintenance project was that some parts of the steel roof structure were not easy to reach. “You need spider platforms for that, but how do you reach the soccer field and bleachers with large equipment if the doors aren’t big enough to get through? This was apparently not well thought out when the stadium was designed. Hoisting an aerial platform into the stadium turned out not to be an option. Working from scaffolding was also ruled out, because it would be too much of an obstacle when football is played again in the stadium with the public. The same goes for the suspension bridge, and the roof construction is not strong enough for that either. We also considered abseilers, but the project is less suitable for that,” he explains.
