Due to the doubling of the N33 highway, it became necessary to provide the bridge over the Winschoterdiep near Zuidbroek with a “bigger brother”. Both bridges involve work for Multipaint. The old bridge will soon be removed and transported to Multipaint’s facility in Bergum. The old wear layer will be removed, and the entire structure will be re-blasted, preserved, and fitted with a new wear layer before the bridge can be reinstalled.
However, before that could happen, the new bridge also needed to be addressed. Machine factory Rusthoven from Groningen awarded Multipaint the contract for both the old bridge and the work on the new bridge. The blasting and preservation of the new bridge leaf also took place in the facility in Bergum. The new bridge leaf has now been installed, and the way will literally be cleared for work on the old bridge.
