That is why we started on Sunday with thoroughly cleaning and sanding the floor, which had become very greasy and slippery due to margarine production. We then applied the four layers of the coating system over four days. Our specialists began with a primer. After the primer came a scratch coat to close the joints of the old tiled floor. Once this had dried sufficiently, the self-levelling epoxy floor was applied. The walkways were then given an anti-slip finish. We carried out the final work on Ascension Day.
This was not the easiest job for our colleagues. As the photos show, there was very little clearance between the machines themselves and between the machines and the floor, which meant they sometimes had to contort themselves to gain proper access everywhere.
The coating system we applied is, of course, tailored to our client’s specific requirements regarding cleanability, chemical and temperature resistance, and anti-slip.
