The Van Heekplein is a square in the city center of Enschede. This square was created as part of the post-war urban renewal. Now, you can find the shopping heart of Enschede on and around this square. There are many stores of well-known retail chains, and every Tuesday and Saturday there is a market. The artwork 'De Kringel' is also located on this square.
New conservation system artwork the Kringel
Commissioned by the municipality of Enschede, SealteQ’s specialists have provided this artwork with a new preservation system. First, we had the artwork completely cleaned by Vitos Specialistische Reiniging BV. They did this at night. Our specialists then completely sanded down the artwork and touched up where necessary. Subsequently, we applied a completely new 2-layer preservation system to both the artwork and the surrounding fencing. Immediately in the new colors of the municipality that you can also see in other places in the streetscape. For example, on lampposts, fences, signs, and trash cans.
We carried out our work during the day using aerial work platforms. We were only absent on Tuesdays so that the weekly market could continue without hindrance. Finally, we also redid the sealant work of the foundation blocks so that ‘De Kringel’ now looks completely tidy again.
