Concrete repair and renovation at Twence in Hengelo

Concrete repair and renovation at Twence in Hengelo

Last week, our specialists were working at waste processing company Twence in Hengelo. At Twence, a sustainable, circular, and biobased society is central. Thanks to innovations and new techniques, they are returning more and more raw materials from waste and biomass back into the cycle.

Our specialists worked in the scrap bunker, where they applied a heat-resistant concrete mortar to the walls. To do this, they first removed the wooden protective wall that was still in the bunker. After that, they intensively cleaned all the walls to remove all dirt, grease, dust, and contaminants. Subsequently, they roughened the concrete by means of water jets, repaired the concrete damage, and installed 2200 anchors and reinforcement meshes. Finally, we applied a wear-resistant, heat-resistant spray mortar in a layer thickness of 50 mm and then finished it smoothly.
