Our work on the piers in Bonaire has not gone unnoticed in the Netherlands either. The trade magazine Land & Water recently wrote an extensive report on the work SealteQ has performed in Bonaire.
The renovation of the south pier in Kralendijk began in February 2018 and was successfully completed in December 2018. Work began with renewing the surface of the pier. The surface of the pier was repaired with carbon adhesive reinforcement and then finished with a two layer epoxy coating system. Also, all 147 pillars on which the pier rests were repaired with fiberglass sheathing that was subsequently filled with concrete.
Carbon adhesive reinforcement
The system carbon adhesive reinforcement is applied when the useful load is increased on beams, floors and bridges. Applications thus range from floor reinforcements at new stairwells to increasing the load-bearing capacity of traffic overpasses. After application, a layer of stucco and/or fire-resistant coating can be applied. Due to the combination of very high strengths and low deadweight, the system can easily be placed to provide reinforcement of the concrete structure.
