On April 1, 2014, SealteQ Group’s Ivacon of Lijnden celebrated its 40th anniversary. An important milestone, also for the SealteQ Group in which Frans Nooren has an almost equal period of experience. In fact, Frans Nooren celebrated his 40th anniversary in 2013.
The SealteQ Group is pleased to have so much experience in the group. Experience has brought Ivacon and thus the SealteQ Group a wealth of data and routine. This implies a quick and professional indication of the work offered. It certainly guarantees effective and efficient execution and in addition, we are convinced that good communication with all parties involved is vital.
Rob Braaksma has been with Ivacon since 1986. The name Ivacon comes from I njecting VA n CON structures and was founded in 1974. With so many years of service, there is always a lot to tell.
Rob Braaksma previously worked in the dredging industry in Saudi Arabia and eventually came into contact with underwater concrete repair through work at the Oosterschelde storm surge barrier. Before joining Ivacon, he worked as a contractor at Vermeer Grond & Wegen.
When asked which projects he found special during his years of service at Ivacon, numerous examples come to mind. These range from NS railroad viaducts to work for VVEs.
In particular, those examples have to do with the complex problems that arose in the structural and environmental fields. The challenge was often in the special techniques, or measures that had to be applied.
Rob Braaksma sees a future in much more cooperation, naming the VBR and the Concrete Platform. He believes that the parties should be more involved in concrete repair issues.
His penchant for quality becomes apparent when he speaks out about the further development of products, which ensure that the preservation of concrete takes shape. To this end, according to Rob Braaksma, there should not only be custom written specifications or applications. It is also important not only to look at the lowest price.
The innovation for the concrete repair business is mainly in the products marketed by suppliers. However, the creativity for solving concrete problems in a quality manner lies with the application. That ultimately determines the quality of the final product.
Ivacon chose cooperation with SealteQ Group because SealteQ Group is clear regarding its national ambitions. Ivacon was looking for economies of scale.
For co-writing large and national works, the size of SealteQ Group is a strong argument. The national coverage and cost-saving effects of economies of scale, cooperation on large projects and the stable image of the SealteQ Group justify Ivacon’s choice.
The SealteQ Group congratulates Ivacon on its choice and 40th anniversary.
