The 2021 – 2022 school year has begun, so that also means that we at SealteQ are again supervising a number of trainees. In the coming period these are Yuenkar and Liset. Because we not only hope that we can give them something to learn; we also learn from them ourselves!

Yuenkar interns at the secretariat
In the coming period, Yuenkar will strengthen the secretariat of SealteQ Group. She does this from Stadskanaal. This 18-year-old MBO Management Assistant student is in her second year. ,,I hope to learn how the company is put together and how the processes in such a company run. I’m really looking forward to leaving soon with a lot of experience, so that I can move on to the next school year,” she says.
Her first phone call was an immediate turn-on. The person on the other end of the line turned out not to speak Dutch. Fortunately, English is not a problem for her and with Yuenkar we have a real champion in our midst. After all, she won The Big Challenge Noord-Nederland, an English competition, in both 2015 and 2016.
Liset interns in the financial administration department
Our second reinforcement is 17-year-old Liset. She is doing an internship in our financial administration department for the coming period, for her MBO course in Business Administration. Like Yuenkar, she is a second-year student. She will start on the accounts payable side and then learn the ins and outs of the accounts receivable world. ”I hope to learn how the financial administration of a technical company works.”
Eventually, Liset wants to move on to college. She is no stranger, as she knew SealteQ before she started her internship through the relationship of her father’s company with SealteQ. Her ultimate goal? Working in the family business. ,,I already do small things there, so I recognize the things I get to do at SealteQ now. I find the variety of different parts of the administration super interesting.”
The guidance of Yuenkar and Liset
Interns who join SealteQ are supervised intensively. We find it important that they can develop themselves well. Claudia and Esther supervise Yuenkar in the secretariat; Lisette, Elena and Ulrike supervise Liset.
Claudia: ,,Trainees bring so much fresh air. That’s great because, of course, we have been working here for a while. My goal is to have them leave as full-fledged employees, so they are ready for the job market.” Esther concurs. ”How they come in and how they leave is often a world of difference. That’s beautiful. And it teaches us to explain well, step by step. Because for us, of course, how things go is self-evident.”
Lisette: ,,It is very nice to guide them because we want to show them the total financial process within an organization like SealteQ. They often come in with basic skills. To then see them leave with more experience and knowledge, which they can later apply: that’s what we do it for.”
