Sponsor SealteQ West B.V. has supported Fred Westenberg and Robbert Bloksma. They joined 99 others in Tanzania with their ‘iASSET for AMREF Flying Doctors’ team to cycle around Kilimanjaro (400km, 4,000hm) to raise money for AMREF Flying doctors. A total of €641,413.93 was raised. This amount will positively impact the lives of 15,000 families. The amount was handed over to Dr. Githinji Gitahi the CEO of AMREF Health Africa on Friday, October 13.
Proud sponsor
SealteQ West B.V. is proud of all the participants who participated and supports AMREF Flying Doctors in its goals. In addition to training local medical personnel, sending doctors to remote areas and bringing patients to hospitals, AMREF is an organization that is also committed to structural improvement in Africa. AMREF does this by supporting schools and helping teach hygiene, among other things. But it also helps set up and operate water projects. After all, 1,000 children a day die throughout Africa due to a lack of clean drinking water. AMREF also invests in e-learning programs so that local aid workers can continue to develop remotely.
“Great adventure,” sponsor thanks!
Fred Westenberg and Robbert Bloksma sincerely thank SealteQ West B.V. for its generous contribution. Robbert: “Besides the fact that cycling was quite a sporting challenge (heat 40+ degrees, and very, very much dust), we were able to see with our own eyes how badly development aid is still needed in the world in 2017.” Fred: “It was a great adventure that I will think back on with great pleasure and positive emotions. In addition to all the fun we had, we also positively impacted the lives of 15,000!!!! families in Africa positively affected. Now that is what they call a win-win situation”.
