On behalf of a machine factory in Emmen, SealteQ has provided a workshop floor with an epoxy trowel floor finish.
Initially, the existing floor was degreased and intensively deep cleaned. This was necessary for the subsequent steps required for applying the epoxy trowel floor finish. An epoxy trowel floor is excellently resistant to chemical substances, mechanical stress, and is, among other things, highly impact and wear-resistant.
After cleaning the floor, it was then mechanically blasted and made dust-free. Such pre-treatment ensures extra cleanliness and also provides a sufficiently adhesive surface. For certainty, the pre-treated floor was provided with a tolerant epoxy primer layer that adheres well to such a substrate. If this were not the case, the primer layer and the subsequent epoxy trowel could start to detach.
After applying the primer, the floor was provided with a mottled platinum grey colored epoxy trowel. Finally, the trowel floor was sealed with a transparent thixotropic epoxy mass. Meanwhile, the lathes and milling machines have been replaced, and the floor is fully loaded.
SealteQ has the expertise to apply protective and/or decorative coatings to new and existing commercial floors in full compliance with specific requirements. The range of possibilities and systems is very extensive.
Commissioned by the Municipality of Leeuwarden, SealteQ has started the large-scale renovation work on the movable bridges in Leeuwarden. In total, SealteQ will carry out life-extending maintenance on twelve bridges. Due to overdue maintenance, the quality of the bridges has deteriorated in recent years and it is time for life-extending maintenance. The maintenance will consist of concrete repairs, repair of pavement structures being wearing courses and conservation work.
