What is special about this project is the combination of two project components that are normally separate. Namely, specific concrete research, immediately followed by repair. It had already become clear in the preliminary phase that the balconies needed to be reinforced. However, the exact way in which this maintenance can be tackled as efficiently as possible only becomes apparent from the results of the research. This can vary from balcony to balcony. This approach requires a great deal of flexibility from the execution team and cooperation with our company office and all external parties involved in the project.
This working method also means that SealteQ’s professionals participate in the research according to a pre-determined plan. After the old screeds have been removed, the reinforcement present in the floors is first detected and marked on the surface. Cores are then drilled for further investigation in the laboratory. Visual observation also provides the necessary information. It is important that the (primary) damage mechanism is determined and that the extent to which it has occurred is clearly identified. After the structural repair has been carried out, the balconies are finished again with a screed with a non-slip synthetic floor coating. A beautiful and challenging project in which SealteQ can demonstrate its added value as an expert concrete repair specialist.
