In the center of The Hague, SealteQ Ivacon is renovating an underground parking garage for Shell, commissioned by their property manager Sodexo. It's a logistical challenge in the busy center of a major city. We gladly take on this challenge in a safe manner. SealteQ and Shell find common ground in their attention to safety and its importance.

Maintenance in the Parking Garage

The Shell parking garage beneath the headquarters in The Hague was due for maintenance. The concrete needs renovation in some areas, and the existing coating system, including line markings, requires renewal. Small, still harmless cracks had formed in the concrete, which we injected and repaired before applying the new coating.

The Shell parking garage is a substantial project. Our specialists are working on two connected parking locations, including a five-story underground parking facility of over 12,000 square meters. In total, we’re applying about seven kilometers of anti-slip line markings.

Safety is Paramount in Shell’s Parking Garage

At SealteQ, we consider safety our highest priority. It’s not without reason that it’s one of our core values. Safety is also of great importance to Shell. As such, a thorough safety plan was a crucial component.

The parking garage is located beneath the main building. This means there are a limited number of exits and escape routes. Moreover, there is less natural ventilation in such a largely enclosed space.

Therefore, we carried out the renovation of the only entrance and exit in a single weekend. This minimized the exposure to harmful substances for people and allowed the parking garage to remain largely operational. For the same reasons, our specialists are carrying out the rest of the concrete renovation, coating repair, and line marking in Shell’s parking garage in phases. This is how we protect and preserve both people and the environment.
