Commissioned by Machinefabriek Emmen/Nauta Heeg, SealteQ Bergum blasted and coated the steel section of the new pedestrian bridge for the Municipality of Amsterdam.
The bridge will be installed in IJburg, located on the IJmeer in Amsterdam East. This distinctive district, built on a cluster of artificial islands, is known for its innovative architecture. The new pedestrian bridge will create a crucial connection between Krijn Taconiskade and Bert Haanstrakade.
The bridge will be positioned between two existing quay walls and will have a single pier in the water, constructed from concrete and surrounded by masonry. The bridge measures nearly 33 meters in length and 2.8 meters in width. The deck will be finished with wooden planks fitted with stainless-steel anti-slip strips featuring texts from IJburg residents engraved into them. This gives the bridge a unique character.
The specialists in our blasting booth in Suameer have ensured the bridge’s durability and stability. The chosen protective coating system (including metallizing) and the aluminum topcoat color made the project challenging. Nevertheless, we successfully completed the assignment. The end result: a bridge that is of a high standard both functionally and aesthetically.
In a recent project in Daalerveen, SealteQ SLS specialists played a crucial role in the foundation repair of a building that had suffered extensive damage due to uneven settlement and a partially collapsed foundation. The issue with the home's foundation required a well-thought-out approach to prevent further damage while minimizing disruption to the residents during the foundation repair operation.
