Specialists from our SealteQ West branch carried out concrete restoration on the facades of the monumental Erasmushuis in Rotterdam. As one of the few buildings, it survived the bombing during the Second World War. Located on the Coolsingel, in the heart of the city, the project posed challenges not only due to its monumental status but also in terms of logistics.
The Scheveningen Lighthouse
The completion of the works on this exceptional monument dates back to late 2019. In the meantime, we updated the Scheveningen lighthouse in 2021, as we do in our role as maintenance contractor. A distinctive aspect of this national monument was the presence of paint layers containing hexavalent chromium (Chromium-6). As specialists in the safe removal of Chromium-6, it was a fantastic assignment to execute.
Welding Shed at the NDSM Wharf in Amsterdam
Also known as the cathedral of the NDSM wharf in Amsterdam: the welding shed. When the shipyard was still operational, various components were welded together here to form ships. SealteQ Ivacon’s specialists restored the concrete at several locations on this national monument.
The Hagestein Weir Complex
The Hagestein weir complex is one of three weir complexes on the Nederrijn and Lek that SealteQ renovated. Architect Wouter Hamdorff designed the futuristic-looking Hagestein in the 1950s. It is now—unique among the three complexes—a designated monument. In a special cofferdam, our specialists welded the weir’s sector gate under water.
