The old overlay system in this complex consists of tiles and no longer functions properly (including insufficient anti-slip). Temporary rubber tiles were therefore laid. SealteQ will replace this system with a new, sustainable, lightweight, waterproof, and anti-slip system. In total, it concerns approximately 1,500 m2 of gallery flooring spread across 7 floors. This project presents several logistical challenges and the working space is limited. Therefore, all materials are transported to the floors by crane. In addition to replacing the overlay floor, we will also modify the cabling embedded in the floor, replace the corroded rainwater downpipe penetrations, and carry out concrete repairs. In short, SealteQ is delivering the complete renovation of the galleries. The project is expected to be completed in the autumn of this year.
Update October 2022
Before the summer we posted an update about the start of the fine project we are delivering for Woonbron on Cloese in Hoogvliet. The galleries of this complex are being fitted with new overlay floors. These are raised lightweight floors finished with a durable anti-slip system.
Our colleagues first removed the existing finishes. These consisted of raised tiled floors topped with wooden sheets and rubber mats. They then thoroughly cleaned and sanded the floors. Next, the lightweight overlay panels were bonded to the surface with a slope. The gutters were preserved and the old corroded rainwater penetrations were replaced.
The overlay panels are finished with a robust multi-layer plastic system, with a total consumption of approximately 7 kg/m2. In the penultimate layer, a colored anti-slip granule is incorporated, which we seal with a transparent topcoat. This gives the floors an attractive colored finish. We also provide the expansion joints with an additional reinforcement layer, and the gutters and the front edge are seamlessly integrated into the finish. Once the flooring system is completed, we will install stainless-steel gutter profiles. In addition to the flooring works, our specialists are also repairing concrete damage to floor slabs and brackets. These defects were caused by leaks from the floors and expansion joints. The renovation is progressing well, ensuring that all residents can once again access their homes threshold-free before winter.
