Major leak in Heinenoordtunnel sealed off

Recently, the specialists from SealteQ West successfully completed a crucial project: sealing a leak in the Heinenoord Tunnel. Located beneath the Oude Maas, this tunnel connects the Hoeksche Waard with the island of IJsselmonde. With the A29 running through it, it serves as an important connecting route.

A few weeks ago, our experts received an urgent request to address a challenging leak at a segment joint in the tunnel. This was a pressing issue, as the joints often form the weak point in a tunnel’s construction, and leaks can also cause significant inconvenience for road users. With our expertise and years of experience in the sector, we were able to effectively stop the leak in close collaboration with Nebest.

We accomplished this using our innovative ‘flake method’. This method is specifically designed for situations with strongly flowing leaks. It has once again proven to be a reliable solution for critical leaks in tunnels.

What made the project particularly challenging was the limited preparation time. SealteQ is known for delivering high-quality results, even under time pressure, thanks to our years of experience and expertise. Of course, the willingness to tackle problems, even when there is pressure on the schedule, is an achievement in itself.

During the past Easter weekend, our specialists once again applied gel injection techniques in the Benelux Tunnel with great urgency and under significant time pressure. This confirms our unwavering commitment to continue providing specialized solutions for our clients under challenging circumstances.
