After extensive research and thorough preparation, SealteQ West commenced a complex project in Rotterdam in March of this year, commissioned by HEF Wonen.
Complex opplus project in Rotterdam
This location presented numerous leaks and various structural problems that could only be resolved through a comprehensive renovation. The walkable roof of the underlying school, which also serves as access to the porches of the overlying residences, required a complete overhaul.
Over the past period, our specialists have stripped the roof and replaced frames and cladding. Subsequently, they installed an insulated package that was cleverly sloped towards the surrounding gutters. The pressure-distributing and walkable plates are now being finished with a robust, crack-bridging, and fast-curing anti-slip floor finish.
The past period has been challenging for our teams. We faced significant rainfall, necessitating extensive shielding and working between showers. We also worked through some weekends to complete the job. Fortunately, our employees experienced somewhat more sunshine in recent weeks. The glazing will be installed during the May holiday, and we anticipate completing the project, hopefully under a radiant sun.
Update July 6, 2023; project completion
In early June, the final touches of this project, such as fall protection on the roof of the gymnasium and the finishing of the fire-resistant glazing, were completed. Due to adhering to a tight schedule and the willingness of many colleagues to go the extra mile in the period leading up to the pleasant days of June, we were ultimately able to deliver the special project to everyone’s satisfaction by mid-June. Last week, we were able to conclude it in a pleasant way for those involved by treating all 250 students of the school and other stakeholders to a delicious ice cream, aided by the beautiful weather.
