SealteQ Ivacon, commissioned by
Haffner Energy
, carried out the assignment together with consultant
Verwaard Bouwstoffen
. The execution of the assignment, the anchoring and grouting of the steam turbine (8 MWe) and condenser (32 MW), went smoothly due to the collaboration.
Work Activities
The first step was to treat the concrete surface in the steam turbine and condenser. This was done by dust-free diamond grinding. After removing dirt, grease, dust and other contaminants from the substrate, auxiliary formwork was placed around the objects to be treated. Because the auxiliary formwork needs to stay firmly in place, it was anchored to the substrate. The spaces under the steam turbine and condenser were filled with mortar using a worm pump. A worm pump is a suitable means of displacing viscous, difficult-to-pump liquids (such as mortar). The two main components in a worm pump are the rotating part, the worm, and the fixed part, the rubber-vulcanized stator. By rotating the rotor, the mortar is forced through the movable chambers. The excess material is removed once the mortar has hardened. Then the substrate is cleaned. The final step is to remove the auxiliary formwork.
Precise Work
The surfaces of the steam turbine and condenser to be treated were located on the second floor. The objects are aligned to each other with an accuracy of 1/1000 mm. Therefore, a disturbance in this tolerance is not desired. To contribute to this, products suitable for this purpose were used.
Products
A customized product for every assignment!
SealteQ works with different types of products in all its assignments. These products are tailored to the substrate of the object. Products are also carefully selected in consultation with the client, taking into account what is technically responsible. For the work in the steam turbine and condenser, a low-shrinkage, cement-bound mortar (Pagel V1-50) was used. This made it possible to deliver a virtually shrinkage-free and stress-free product.
