Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility

At SealteQ, we care for what truly matters: our people, our customers, and our planet. SealteQ Group is a member of the Association of Certified Concrete Repair Companies (VBR). Companies affiliated with this association are proud frontrunners in the concrete repair industry in the areas of sustainability, safety, and corporate social responsibility.

We realize that we have a social role to fulfill and therefore use the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the framework for our CSR policy. SDGs are the United Nations’ sustainable development goals that should lead to a better world by 2030. Our latest evaluation has shown that three SDGs are relevant to our business operations and services:

✔ Decent work and economic growth

✔ Industry, innovation and infrastructure

✔ Climate action

Below we elaborate on what these SDGs specifically entail and how SealteQ engages with them.

What else We Do

SealteQ considers it important to have a positive impact on the local environment. That’s why we sponsor various causes, such as the theater in Stadskanaal, regional sports teams, sports talents, and regional music festivals.

In 2013, together with 42 other sponsors, we raised €20,206 for Stichting Leergeld and presented a check worth €15,000 to Julians Stichting. Additionally, we supported Fred Westenberg and Robbert Bloksma. They cycled around Tanzania with their team to raise money. In total, €641,513.93 was raised. During the anniversary celebration (50 years of SealteQ) we raised almost €17,000 for Stichting Rikki Kanaalstreek.

Goal: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.

What do we do?
We consider it important to invest in our personnel. Within our company, much attention is given to training our employees.

We offer employees a BBL (work-based learning) program so they can learn the trade of concrete repairer with us (BBL levels 2 and 3). We also provide customized programs for colleagues who have the ambition to advance (for example, MBO level 4 supervisor, concrete repair execution middle management, concrete maintenance expert, Safety Officer, Higher Safety Officer, and so on). We work with trained mentors who guide new employees.

To introduce new employees to SealteQ and our field of work in an innovative way, we have developed an onboarding program. In December 2019, we were one of the winners of MBK Idee with our induction module. With the integration of this induction module into our personnel app, we won the Health & Safety Excellence Award from the NPAL in 2022.

Every year, we offer refresher training courses such as VCA (Safety, Health and Environment Checklist), Emergency Response, safe working with aerial work platforms, and forklift operation.

We have strong connections with local training centers and their collaborations. We also have projects where people with a distance to the labor market are employed. Examples are Project Yellow Bridge and Project Red Carpet.

Within SealteQ, we work with interns in various places, for example in the secretariat, the warehouse, and our financial department. We also regularly participate in activities of Zoo werkt ‘t.
