Replacing the wall tiling of swimming pool the Delte

Last week, SealteQ commenced work on the swimming pool De Delte in Gorredijk. The work carried out by SealteQ will involve the deep pool. The wall tiles and the overflow gutter of the pool will be demolished and then replaced.

Demolition of the Wall Tiles

As mentioned above, SealteQ has started demolishing the wall tiles, including the joints. This demolition work will be carried out manually. Once the wall tiles are removed, a formwork will be constructed. This will connect to the overflow gutter. Concrete will be poured here to create a better overflow edge between the water and the overflow gutter.

Installation of New Tiles

After the concrete overflow edge is completed, SealteQ will place two quarter-round tiles on it. The new tile work will be installed with an epoxy grout that is waterproof. The removed section of wall tiles, which has been replaced with concrete, will be provided with a
coating
. In areas where there is no overflow gutter, SealteQ will inspect the walls for cracks in the concrete. If cracks are present, they will need to be filled with a modified cementitious mortar.

Coating of the Tile Work

Once the repair work on the overflow gutter and the wall tiles is completed, SealteQ will begin coating the wall tiles of the pool. Bare surfaces will be treated to ensure the coating system bonds well with the substrate. Subsequently, three different coatings will be used in the impregnation of the pool. First, a coating will be applied to the bare parts of the pool. Second, a coating will be applied to the existing concrete walls and the newly created overflow edge. Finally, a layer from the overflow gutter to the bottom of the pool edge.
