The distinctive building known as 'de Golfslag' stands at Smedingplein in Emmeloord. From 1971 to 2015, de Golfslag served as a nursing home. Since then, it has stood vacant, and the condition of the property has steadily deteriorated. After these years of vacancy, the building is finally getting a new purpose.

106 apartments will become available for both young and old. It will be a residential building where care can be provided, but where regular apartments can also be rented. Additionally, on the ground floor, there will be a meeting space that will serve as a community room for local residents and inhabitants of de Golfslag.
However, before this can happen, the building must first undergo thorough renovation. In 2022, the specialists from SealteQ Noord began the initial work on this project. Due to leakage at the joints in gallery floors, the load-bearing structure has been affected, and concrete damage has occurred. We first repaired this concrete damage, after which the expansion joints on the upper side were resealed. Subsequently, we replaced all rainwater drainage wells with new ones, and then the gallery floors were provided with a protective coating. Finally, a new layer of paint was applied to the remaining concrete parts. As a result, the apartment building has gained a completely different appearance and is now fully prepared for the future.
Last month, we completed our work, and it is expected that the first residents will be able to move into their new apartments at the beginning of 2024.
