An important part of the work is the restoration of concrete balustrades and addressing various concrete damages caused by wear and corrosion of the reinforcement. This damage is carefully repaired to restore the original strength of the structure. The damaged concrete surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and specialized mortars are applied, improving both the structural integrity and the aesthetics of the concrete.
In addition to the concrete repairs, the sealant fillings of no fewer than 455 balustrades are being renewed. This is of great importance for maintaining the watertight properties of the structure. By removing the old sealant and applying a new, durable joint sealant, the specialists ensure that the complex is optimally protected against moisture and weather influences.
Another crucial aspect of the project is the application of a high-quality ALSAN joint sealing system on the galleries. This seal ensures that the expansion joints in the floor system remain watertight and flexible, allowing the movements of the structure to be absorbed without problems and preventing new damage from occurring.
In addition to the repair and protection of the concrete structures, the entire complex is cleaned. Subsequently, the concrete is hydrophobized, a process in which a water-repellent agent is applied to protect the concrete against the penetration of moisture, which is essential for the lifespan of the structure.
