SealteQ is carrying out a concrete renovation in the De Brouwerij parking garage in Enschede, commissioned by the municipality of Enschede. The work involves renovating and coating the floors of 10 parking levels, including the top deck, covering a total area of about 8000 m2. The entrance and exit ramps between the parking decks will also be provided with a protective coating during the renovation. Parking garage De Brouwerij has a parking capacity of 300 spaces.

The work
Before starting the coating work, injection work is first carried out. The coating work includes a package of treatments. This ensures that the substrate can be used safely and sustainably at the end of the work. Different treatment methods are applied for the parking levels than for the ramp areas. All surfaces are first pre-treated. This means that the floors are dust-free blasted. Areas that are not accessible with the blasting unit are manually treated with a diamond grinding machine. This treatment removes dirt, grease, dust, and other types of contamination from the surface. The floor is then also strong enough to support the new coating system to be applied. After measuring the minimum adhesion strength of the screed floors and determining the moisture level, work resumes following a positive result. A primer and screed layer are then applied to the parking floors. After that, a flexible membrane is applied. This is sprinkled with aggregate. After sufficient drying, the excess sprinkling material is removed, and the top layer can be applied. The ramps are provided with a primer, wear layer, and top coat.
Completion of the Parking Garage
The work for renovating and coating the concrete is nearing completion. Delivery is expected in November 2020.
