Carbon adhesive reinforcement VU Medical Center

We reinforced this floor by applying carbon fiber reinforcement. For every intervention where carbon fiber reinforcement is applied, a structural engineer makes a calculation in advance. This was also the case here. After making the structural calculations, we pre-treated the surface by diamond grinding. Subsequently, we performed adhesion strength measurements and finally bonded the carbon fiber strips with epoxy.

In total, we applied 22 carbon fiber strips with a total length of 160 meters.
